Abstract

Food is one of the basic needs for humans. Behavior that does not implement sanitary hygiene in managing food can allow food to be contaminated and result in foodborne illnesses. In Lokası Research shows unhygienic behavior such as not washing hands, food without a cover, traders smoking and not storing food properly. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of traders with food sanitation hygiene at Gagan Boyolalı Market
This type of research uses descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this research are traders who manage food at Gagan Boyolalı Market. The sample was 55 traders using Total Population Sampling. This research instrument used a questionnaire and analyzed the chi-square test data with p ≤α (0,05) to determine the relationship between the two variables.
The results of the univariate analysis showed that the level of knowledge was good (90.9%), traders' attitudes were poor (61.8%) and food hygiene was good (89.1%). The results of the bivariate analysis show that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and food sanitation hygiene with a value of p=0.029<0.05 and there is a relationship between the attitude of traders and food sanitation hygiene with a value of p = 0.041 < 0.05.
It is recommended that traders increase their awareness of implementing food hygiene, especially in food management.
