Abstract
The aim of this research is to explain the use of POC (Piece of Cake)
English YouTube channel in Teaching Vocabulary at SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo
and to explore the student’s perception about POC English YouTube channel as
media for learning Vocabulary.
The research applied qualitative method. it is used to explore the
phenomenon in order to understand practice and behavior in real social situations
for young individuals’ problems. The data were gathered using observation,
interview and questionnaire
The finding of this research showed that in the application of POC English
YouTube Channel as media for learning English vocabulary the teacher needs to
prepare few things such as the material and media for the study. Furthermore,
based on the observation the learning process is divided into three phase, pre
activity, main activity and post activity. In addition, the students in general have
positive perception towards YouTube as learning media. This is proven by the
questionnaire which resulted in 85% of students having positive responses.
